Guess I spoke too soon...

Well, I guess I spoke too soon...or rather, should I say "let me eat those words"...isn't there even a saying about a crow or something??

Well, as soon as little Corbin woke up from his nap yesterday, he was running 102.5 fever...ugh!!! I took both the boys to the pediatrician today and he said that B has a sinus infection and Corbin just has a cold...but if he continues to have the junk (phlemy cough, snots, etc) for another 5 days, give him a call and he'll go ahead and give him an RX for a sinus infection...the good news is that neither one of them are infected!!!...YAHOO!!!

Kelly told me the other day that he does not like working on mid shift (1030pm-7am--maybe 8am or 9am depending on the day)...like he said, it is his turn, though, and at least he's not deployed, right?

Next week is a big week for us!!!...Brendan will get a new tube in his left ear and will have the hole in his right eardrum looked at (and maybe repaired?)...that's on Tuesday...and on Thursday, I'm going on my Walk to Emmaus...can you say "YA-HOOOOOOO!!!" I am soooo looking forward to this spiritual retreat. I can't wait to hear all the wonderful things that the Lord will speak to me about. This is something that I've wanted to do for many many years...it just hasn't been the right time... Monnie Harris is sponsoring me...I can't wait to have that time with her...it'll be nice to get to know her better and I know the Lord will bless our time together.

I got my feelings hurt yesterday...As I often do, I started a conversation with a complete stranger while at the park with the kiddos...as we were talking about Abilene, where we're from, etc, he proceeded to tell me that "if I could envision what hell is like, I'd say it must be like Abilene"...he then waited for me to agree...I proceeded to tell him how much I LOVE ABILENE, it's my favorite place I've EVER lived, I've totally fallen in love with every part of it, including our gorgeous sunsets...he was absolutely stunned...and I was hurt...and then when I told Kelly about it he said "I just don't understand that...it's one thing when you're military and your FORCED to be here, so if he hates it so much, why did he come here and why is he staying????"... As you'll see in the picture, Abilene is beautiful, she is stunning, and I am amazed at the creativeness of our Lord & Savior...aren't you???

Believe it or not, I just don't have anything more to say...the boys are both in bed (B went down at 6pm...not b/c he wanted to, but b/c he was continually hitting his brother...and we warned him that if he did it one more time, he'd be sent to bed...and about 5 minutes later we had to follow through....boy, was that hard!...it hurt soooo bad to send him to bed crying...I know he understands some, but maybe not all...but as my counselor said "well, Mom, would you rather you correct him or a correctional facility do it when he gets older?"...ugh!...it still hurts to punish him. What I'm going to include next is a really cool little story that a girlfriend of mine told our small group a few weeks back...it was really neat and I wanted to get it down on our blog before I forgot...so...I'm off to make prayer journals for the boys...
